Hi, I’m Paula!

Serious Little Bird was born out a desire to create something that might inspire and encourage others to give themselves a little push – like me.

I’m originally from a little farm town in the midwest, a blip along I57 in Illinois. I was a serious, quiet child and my mother would constantly push me to speak up or squeeze my way up to the front of a line instead of hanging back. She taught me to be bold and stand up for myself. She’s also the one who nicknamed me “little bird” because I was chirpy. Apparently, I didn’t have a problem with talking too much.

Fast forward to my current home in a small Colorado mountain town with my husband of over 30 years. I’ve found that in the past 10 years or so, I’ve become more of a homebody. There’s nothing wrong with that, but I’ve learned that life is richer when you push yourself outside your boundaries.
